Weymouth Stitch n Bitch, 14th September 2010
Sitting in the foreground looking quite bored (she wasn’t!) is Sophie, the wonderful friend who started off the local SnB. Quite a few people come a long as you can see and it’s a variety of folks, too, making it interesting to talk to them all. The venue is the Weymouth Old Town Hall but usually we have it upstairs; unforeseen circumstances had us working downstairs last time. It’s a gorgeous building.
Sophie’s going back to university now and leaving me and her mum in charge. It’s nerve-wracking but awesome. Before the Stitch ‘n Bitch started I didn’t even know how to hold a pair of knitting needles but now I spend hours crocheting and knitting. So excellent! Thank you for getting me into this, Sophie.
Last Thursday, Sophie and I hopped on a train on a whim and headed to the Bournemouth Stitch ‘n Bitch which is held in a beautiful café called All Fired Up. It was interesting meeting other crafters in their home territories. Knitters/crocheters are always so friendly. We also saw an impressive interactive light display on the way home – weird things always happen when Sophie and I are together! Shame about missing the train home.
