Weymouth Stitch ‘n Bitch group.
I haven’t been able to crochet/knit for a week or two due to hand pain (I used to have an RSI and it’s threatening to come back) so it was really good to go to the Stitch ‘n Bitch tonight. I brought along all my books and a few that I’d taken out from the library today including a very interesting one on Icelandic knitting. It’s so fascinating what you can learn with a little hunt around the library.
We were previously having trouble because the Old Town Hall is a bit chilly but Martin came early to light the fire for us and we had extra lights too which really improved the room.
It’s such a gorgeous building and the people who run it are absolutely lovely and we were talking about funding which would be amazing. We could get some decent chairs and better lighting and maybe get people in to talk, for example about spinning which is always fascinating. I’ll speak to someone about it and see if it’ll be possible but Martin is pretty sure it wouldn’t be that difficult to get something like that.
Someone had an idea that we should do a small group project, i.e. we should do a little knitted or crocheted or felted flower however we wanted it to look and then make some kind of display for the wall of the Old Town Hall. I think this is a lovely idea and will suggest it to the others next time.
There were some people doing some really gorgeous stuff.
This was a WIP by a lovely woman called Barbara. I was impressed.
Stitch ‘n Bitch really is the highlight of my fortnight. Eternal gratitude to my friend Sophie for starting it up. It’s made me a very happy bunny (although a very tired bunny now!).
