It’s getting to that time…

Who else has started to think about Christmas knits?

My local yarn store has had a sale on this month that’s blown my mind; 40% off all yarn. I’ve bought a few (ahem) skeins to turn into things both for myself and for Christmas gifts, because I figure this is the perfect timing to get pretty things on a budget ready for the season ahead.

I know a lot of people don’t knit for others, especially to a deadline. That’s a valid way to be. For me, I go through stages. I’m in the mood to knit for others right now but let’s see how long that lasts… I’ll make the most of it while it does and get some Giftmas things on the needles.

Of course that means I have to finish the other projects I have going but hey, a little multitasking never hurt anyone, right?

I’ll be starting up the themed pattern posts again in the next week or two, watch out for that. It’s the perfect time of year for all that nerdy knitting.

  2. I’m there :). Halfway through my first Christmas jumper and two stockings down. Am still mastering following patterns so thought it best to start early. I have three daughters putting their names down for jumpers and I’m loving sitting in glorious sunshine watching the snowman grow though it is slightly sweaty πŸ™‚

  3. Christmas is a great excuse for me to buy yarn, and I used it just last weekend! Got yarn to knit two nieces scarves. Just have 4 shawls to finish up first. Or at least, one of them needs to get done. πŸ™‚

Yes, 4. I finished up a big lot of knitting on things I wasn’t really interested in (for sale items) and so I rewarded myself by casting on a shawl. But I had so many in my queue and I had yarn and beads and what not, I could not choose. So I sat down and cast 4 of them onto my needles. Now I am working hard to keep them all going. πŸ™‚

  4. That’s an amazing sale – I’m not surprised you stocked up, it would have been rude not to! Yes for the first time ever I am starting to think about Christmas knits early and not leaving it until 2 weeks before! I have a shawl and a bag on the needles which will be gifts πŸ™‚
